Women’s hormones are very complex. This is why the conventional approach to ‘weight-loss’ (under eating and over-exercising) doesn’t work long term. What’s worse, this conventional approach, will actually create further metabolic and hormonal damage, leading to more weight gain and fatigue.

Release Inflammation

There are two kinds of inflammation: acute and chronic.

Acute inflammation is how our body heals and fights invaders. For example: you get a stomach bug and the immune system recognizes this invader and releases an inflammatory response in order to kill the foreign bug.

Low-grade, chronic inflammation, however, is ever present and communicates to your body that it is not safe. This causes your histamine levels to spike and your immune system to hit overdrive. This affects your hormones by stimulating the ovaries to make too much testosterone (terrible for women + weight-loss), impairs your ability to receive leptin signal to suppress appetite and spikes stress. Constant stress = more inflammation and therefore creates a vicious cycle.

When you are dealing with chronic inflammation, you are exhausted all the time, maybe your joints and bones hurt, you have skin conditions such as acne and eczema, and some digestive concerns like IBS and headaches.

In short:

Acute inflammation = Short term & necessary
Chronic inflammation = Longer term & causes damage

When inflammation is released from your body you are going to have a much easier time losing weight. You will also feel energized, mentally clear and less puffy and swollen.

Meet the Coach

Amy Howe is a Stress Reduced Fat Loss Nutritionist and practicing Functional Holistic Nutritionist.
 
My health journey began 3 years ago when I entered early menopause at the early age of 32.
 
I gained a rapid 30lbs, started having anxiety, stress management issues, absent periods, constipation, water retention and more. 
 
I went to my family doctor and he prescribed an anti depressant but I wasn’t depressed, I was concerned.  I had been a personal trainer and a nutrition coach for over a decade at that time and had competed in 8 fitness shows.   I KNEW how to lose weight BUT this time around, my body was unable.      Seeing as I was going to get no assistance from my family doctor, I decided to go back to school and learn how to help not only myself but other women who are struggling with similar issues such as exhaustion, weight gain, fatigue, hair loss, lack of periods, menopause symptoms and more.
 
I knew I had to totally revamp my diet, ditch all of the chemicals I was using on my body and in my home, and allow myself time to heal. 
 
And that was just the beginning of my healing journey.
 
Over the next 3 years, I learned how to manage my stress and figure out how to structure my lifestyle to support my body and health.
 
All of this led me to my passion for hormonal balance and sexual health. Because it feels really fucking sexy to be empowered with the knowledge to heal your own body.
Taking care of your body isn’t just about food and exercise, it’s also about how you live your life.
